"Manuel Roxas Ancestral House"


The late president, Manuel Roxas, is one of Capiz's most beloved and outstanding sons, and the people of province has made sure to keep his memory alive as one of the greatest historical figures in Philippine history.

It was in Capiz that the fifth president of the Philippines was born. Located in the city proper, the two-storey hardwood and stone house of President Manuel Acuña Roxas is now a historical shrine.


The house of the late president, Manuel Roxas, is declared a national historical sitess. It is the oldest house in Roxas City and is still in the good condition despite the passage of time. It has survived the destruction of World War II. The house has undergone several renovations to its structure.  The management of the house is still in the hands of Roxas’ relatives. Furniture and some of the memorabilia of the president can be found in the house.

"The Sacred Heart of Jesus"


This newly. Built monument was finished in January , 2015 and it was built by a man who had a wish and vision to built an image for the Christ in this area as it really had a great views.

It is considered as the tallest and highest Jesus Christ status in Asia measured as 132 feet tall. The area is in the highest point I guess in Roxas and the way leading to it is a rough road ramp up of gravels which was very hard to climb it up with the tricycle, we were 3 persons and the driver and since the driver and one of us was quite big , we had to go out me and my big friend from the tricycle so it can climb some rough parts.



"St. Martin of Tours Parish Church"


The first church and convent of Dumalag were constructed between 1600 and 1720, and the parish was dedicated to Saint martin of Tour, a bishop. In 1833 Fr. Augustin Duran, whose name has been adopted by one of the Dumalag’s biggest Barangays, started the construction of present church. The church had a five story bell tower which rose majestically at the left side of the church.

The Roxas City Metropolitan Cathedral built in 1877; reconstructed in 1954 is one of the oldest in Panay Island.  The church is a silent witness to the events that has unfolded in the city over the past centuries. Its imposing view is being complemented by its location which is beside the city plaza fronting the Panay River and the old (now Roxas City Bridge).  Fiesta lights add glitter to the church.

The Roxas City Bridge has been a cherished legacy of the city since Spanish times and has long been a great vantage point from which to see the sights that the city has to offer.

The old and imposing Spanish City Bridge has remained strong and firm since it was built in 1910. Connecting the commercial center of the city to the main thoroughfare, traversing the Panay River, the bridge is a silent witness to various changes that ushered in progress and development in the city.

"Old Historical Church"

This awe-inspiring church monument reveals the Spanish grandeur in Pan-ay town; a small fortress;  it is about 250 ft long and 80 ft wide with 9-ft thick walls of coral blocks. The floor is colored marble which shine in subdue tone in misty light. The central altar is an elaborated sculpture retablo of silver and hardwood in florid Baroque style. The lateral altars have intricately carved tiers of niches for images of saints. Sta. Monica is the patron saint. The church's five-story belfry shelters a huge antique bell and surrounded by 8 smaller bells. Shrouded with many enchanting tales, the huge bell holds more fascinating truth. It was cast from 70 sacks of coins believed to have been contributed by the citizens of the town. It is seven feet in diameter, five feet high and weighs 10.4 tons. In fact, it is estimated to be the largest in Southeast Asia.
